Association.
My neighbor just told me a story that made me think: mad world. Which made me think of the song, which made me think of Donnie Darko, in which the song is used. Hence the clip.
That said, I need to see DD again urgently! It’s one of my favorite movies of all times, and it’s been way too long ..
