Dirty cops
Dirty cops. There are so many movies about them, the one better than the other. Personally I kind of like The Bad Lieutenant, which recently got a sequel so it seems. Or have you ever seen the series The Shield? Dirty cops written all over it! By incidence I saw two dirty cops movies this weekend: Lakeview Terrace and Surveillance. Lakeview Terrace One thing that’s brilliant in this...

The Pink Panther
Last week, we had moustache day at work. So a lot of guys grew a tacky moustache. Hilarious! What better reason is there to blog about a movie featuring Peter Sellers, who had his share of moustaches :-) I only recently saw the original Pink Panther (1963). A title that has become famous, much larger than this original movie. Think about the cartoon, the many sequels, the merchandising, …...

Shaun of the Dead - a post about zombies
Shaun of the dead (2004), sometimes described as “a romantic comedy with zombies”. I was curious to see this movie. Not only because I saw the original, Dawn of the dead, years before; but especially because SOTD has a spot in the IMDB top 250. How good can a horror parody be to have a spot in here? I know the top 250 is vulnerable for hypes, but this movie is about 6 years old and...

9
There’s a new kid in animation town: Focus Features. After the pretty decent movie Coraline, the company released 9 (on September 9 2009) - directed by Shane Acker and produced by Tim Burton! Like Coraline, 9 is a rather dark movie, setting the animation even further away from the children’s story telling format. 9 is a post-apocalyptic story. Humanity died and the only thing...

Hancock
I’ve seen this movie a while ago, but still haven’t blogged about this. It’s because it’s one of these movies that’s not very good and not very bad at the same time. It’s just what it is, a big-budget, over-produced, well-promoted, hollywood flick. Hancock (2008), is a a-typical super hero (played by Will Smith). Kind of a lowlife with super power abilities....

Save the Planet
Ah Vin Diesel. You know what to expect from a movie featuring him, right? Some kick-ass action, 1 facial expression, muscles and an easy to understand, yet challenging story. Don’t get me wrong, I respect the guy. For example, I liked xXx for what it was, and acknowledge Diesel’s part in the movie. The problem is, this is as far as it goes, Diesel never made it to the top league of...
